Best racing game of 2009?
I think so , It does though have a few problems especially when you go online. The faster cars are very hard to control, the le mans 24 hour race at 12 mins seems to be a bit of a chore to take part in (single player). Everybody that does the drifting is so much better than you, and there aren't enough cars in the touring car selection. But the main problem is when you do go online, you often end up in a room with a foul mouthed brummie taking the mickey out of a very loud frenchman who is totally ignoring the abuse from him and his scouser mate who seems to think that everyone is a noob or a dirty ******* **** more interseted in taking them out of the race than actullly trying to win a race.
I love the game, but it would be so much better playing with a good bunch of guys , so any one who still plays the game send me an invite when you see me on.

24 hours
Are you sure about the 24 hour race? It used to last 12 mins which seemed like an eternity. 24 hours is just plain stupid NOBODY would ever endure that in a video game.
Only time I played online in the 24 hour event I managed to win it, as there were only 4 starters and 2 got bored and left. The other guy was worse than me so I got a rare victory.

yep, when u go to simulation setting yhat option is there. gran turismo 4 on ps2 had 3 24hr races and they r 24hrs and u can't change it.
GRID
The LeMans setting can be changed to 12, 24, 60 minutes and I believe 2 or 6 hours. There will be an upgrade soon with new cars and/or tracks. Also they're trying to create a PIT function, what will make the LeMans a bit easier to complete.
That being said, GRID is the best racing game this year.

I saw the list of cars that they are working on. They seems to be cars that you'd love to own but are really hard to drive in the game. What they need is more choice in the touring car section, which is what most people prefer to race. Alternitively let some of the "Drift Cars" RX8 etc, race against the BWW and chevy.
If they want to sell a car pack I wouldn't buy it. I WOULD though download a race track pack if it were available as long as they weren't all street tracks. The American circuit in particular needs some decent (non street and non oval) tracks.

Pit Stops
Pit Stops sound mint - would be ideal to pit and repair during online racing.
I thought this feature might appear in the offline mode, if you look in the instruction book, it hints towards it and there is a screen shot too.
In the TOCA series, you had to pit during some of the races.
What are these other upgrades mentioned? cars? tracks? etc etc
Real time 24 hour racing sounds a bit daft, I remember doing full races on the PS1 on the F1 games, with pit stops - never again. My attention span isn't that long anymore.

Re: Best racing game of 2009?
I've just taken a look at the official Racedriver site and after initially being told that there would be a downloadable pack theres been no mention of since mid july when they anounced that the VW W12 Nardo ? , A prestige car to compete with the Audi in the le mans races, would be the second car confirmed in the DLC pack. Not sure what the first confirmed one was, but from recolection I think it was also a prestige car. Then after a long pause, peeps started talking about what they would like to see in Grid 2. So one can only presume that there is now not going to be an update.
